The Burned Man, for example, is mentioned in core New Vegas, itself, and he was probably among the most interesting of DLC characters that aren't Ulysses. The DLC that would stand alone best would probably be Honest Hearts and Old World Blues since they open up new, unique environments with great, individual stories behind them that take from the Fallout: New Vegas lore.

Compared to at least two of its predecessors, there's much less openness behind Lonesome Road in favor of concluding Ulysses' narrative arc that made up the overarching storyline of all the DLC. Yeah, Lonesome Road would be difficult to grasp out of context without playing the other DLC, since a lot of the exposition for Lonesome Road was built up over the course of the preceding stories of Dead Money, Honest Hearts, and Old World Blues.

I had only played Lonesome Road and didnt care for it much. nothing comes close to the armor piercing high DMG per hit from the swamp people in that Maryland island DLC in FO3.Oh my mistake.

Lonesome road was too linear and generally easy if you're an overpowered courier with good weapons. might have to do with the annoying beeping and heads exploding constantly. can we trust the religious tribe with the access key if they say they'll use the uranium for nuclear energy? should we be an asshole and keep the key ourselves? should we destroy the vault?ĭead Money was cool but I enjoyed The Pitt in FO3 more than it. i like quests where people's hidden colors are revealed in the middle/in the end and the choice that seems like a "no brainer" actually becomes more complicated. where's that hidden basement filled with corpses or a vault they kept secret containing a nuclear reactor/warhead that they can't use bc the white walkers or Joshua Graham have the ignition code/key? after all they were lying to that woman about their husband/family being dead so they lie to everyone as a modus operandi to keep them docile.

I'm a rather cautious person and wouldn't trust what the preacher Daniel tells us about their "pacifist religious tribe" at first. The world and new gear in HH are dope but I feel like the story was missing narrative twists and the canyon should've had a vault/nuclear site.
